yeah, not too long ago, i had undergone a life-changing surgery.
for a month now, you may have notice a gunk of soft tissue and blood on my left big toe; i had an ingrown toe nail. some of you may find this funny, ridiculous even. but those who had the utmost misfortune to experience this affliction know better than just scoff. having an ingrown is no laughing matter.
how did i succumb to this affliction of mine?
not so long ago, my nails were getting long so it was now due time to give them a trim. as some of you, or even most of you, may know that i, sad to say, dont know how to cut my nails. i always cut deep in the sides. so when the nails grow back, they grow inside the flesh.
for those of you who are a little bit squeamish, i laugh at your sad, little predicament. hahaha
let me laugh some more.. hahahaha. so, this was not just a little ingrown, it was a big one! my toe was swollen to twice it's normal size and blood and puss were coming out; i really had a bad case of infection. so i have to bathe it in betadine and agua oxigenada once in a while. i refrain from using shoes whenever i can.
it was very painful and a very disgusting sight. soft tissue was coming out. eeww. not to mention lots of blood and puss. yuck! so it was time to fix this; i'll see a doctor.
so after the check-up, he said that he needs to operate on my toe and remove about 1/3 of my nail. ouch. so he scheduled me to have an operation the next day at one pm. so i was a little bit nervous, for i had never been under the knife before.
so the day came and operated on me. first was an injection of anesthesia, to negate pain. and.. i dont know what happened next. they didnt let me see the operation. all i did was lie down and text. it was really disturbing to see that tons of blood were flooding and spurting across the floor and bed but not feeling even an infinitesimal amount of pain.
so in the next few days, i have to change my dressing atleast 2 times a day. the doctor said that i can resume my swimming pursuits next week. eeeee! i cant wait. hahaha
so thanks for reading my DETAILED post. im sure y'all still be able to eat. hahahaha
i can still eat, actually. :))))))
ReplyDeleteanesthesia is really weird. :/ i remember when i had my 3rd molars removed, 2 of them was surgical and the dentist had to do incisions on my gums so they could remove it. i can feel the dentist doing the incisions and stuff, but no pain. SUPER WEIRD. >.>
i hope you'd take time to see your doctor na ulit, since you told me you're having problems with your ingrown na naman. go na ah? wag pasaway!
